A Tesla paradise in a Spanish prime location
Shortly after the French border, we discovered the beautifully and ideally located boutique hotel Mas Falgarona. A short detour from the highway, and you find yourself in the midst of beautiful nature. A pretty avenue leads to the beautiful 15th-century buildings that once housed a chicken farm. Thanks to the fact that the place was renovated very stylish and tastefully the buildings shine today in new splendor.
Each of the 13 rooms is individually and perfectly decorated and equipped with well-known designer furniture and accessories. The reception with furniture from a well-known Swiss manufacturer makes us feel right at home. Max is the perfect host! He chuckles and says that they indeed have a kind of “Tesla mentality”, referring to the philosophy and unique design. The USP of Mas Falgarona is nature – nothing but nature. In fact, we have seldom heard so many birds chirping around us!
What Mrs T likes
In the middle of nature we enjoy our daily breakfast outside by the pool under a big palm tree. Small but very nice! The attention to detail is obvious throughout the whole hotel. The spa with its indoor pool and a beautiful sauna is just as well maintained as the rooms, the lounges and the restaurant.
A walk through the wide fields or a trip to nearby Figueres is also worthwhile. The famous Dalì Theater Museum is a MUST. It is the largest surrealist object in the world and was designed by Salvador Dalì himself. In a former theater he shows his works of art in 22 rooms. Again and again, strange and new perspectives, optical illusions and other subjects worth a picture. Unbelievable how many works of art this creative mind has left!! However, after this surreal environment it is quite nice to return to the wonderfully tidy Mas Falgarona.
What Mr T likes
The hotel is ideal as a stopover on the long drive to the south, or as a starting point for long bike rides or hikes. You can refresh yourself in the beautiful pool and should there be a cloudburst, the spa area invites you to relax.
For coffee lovers there is both a machine in the room and the most beautiful cappuccino, which you can enjoy in the courtyard, by the pool or in one of the modern and comfortable lounges. Quality also plays an important role in the restaurant – fine, local products can be found on the plates. Many ingredients even come from the own vegetable garden. Delicious!
What our Tesla likes
Our Tesla has rarely seen such a beautiful Destination Charger! Directly at the farm, clearly marked and well protected our car finds its place and is charged in no time. The drive through the cypress avenue to the charming and stylish house quite fits the quiet driving style of our car. If our Tesla could speak, he would probably tell us that he likes it a lot and would love to come back soon. That being said, we feel the same way!
