You know when you’re at the right spot, if “WELCOME HOME” in big letters is emblazoned at the entrance. So then, welcome to Falkensteiner Hotel & Spa in Lido di Jesolo near Venice. An ultra-modern hotel – all white and glass – directly at the beach. Very impressive. No wonder, the world famous American architect Richard Meier designed this Miami style mansion. In the hotel or at the beach, you feel like you’re in Florida. So why longing for the distance, when a copy of the famous Ocean Drive is just around the corner? And together with us, summer arrived at the Adriatic Coast: Finally sun, finally at the sea 🙂 !!!

Just by entering the hotel we get the holiday feels. The lobby is very chic, light, airy and enhances the good vibes of the ocean. The bar right next to it looks just as generous and leads to a wide terrace and down to the sheer endless beach. Here it is, this Miami Beach feeling again, not least because of the Life Guard Stands, freshly painted in white and thus perfectly fitting to the architecture of the Falkensteiner resort. Sand and sea as far as the eye can see. Such space, such freedom. Jesolo along the endless coast is a typical Italian seaside town that claims to have the longest pedestrian street in Europe. At this time of the year Jesolo and the beach are still sleepy, but our hotel brings back the glamor of days gone by!

The spacious rooms with balcony and view of the sea – stunning! Decorated in white and turquoise, the bed separated by ceiling-high curtains – heavenly! The professional hand of no less than Matteo Thun designed the interior. For well-off families we recommend the huge, bright Miami Penthouse on the roof with three bedrooms and kitchen. You can take a magnificent view of the sea from the spacious private terrace or the large bed in the master bedroom. What else do you need?!

Outside, the waves are whispering, and a gentle breeze blows softly through the airy rooms. At the incredible rich breakfast buffet, we enjoy freedom and generosity, clouded by some noise coming from the construction site next to the hotel. Being a successful resort, they are extending the facilities. But we’re not feeling disturbed as we are out and about at the beach and in the spa area.

Bye the way: The spa is particularly well and generously designed, with direct access to the garden and the hotel pool. Loungers invite us to relax, saunas and steam baths keep us warm when the sun hides for a moment. Also, the gym looks tempting, but in this weather, we rather enjoy the pool and the sun loungers in the garden. We bring the day to an end with a healthy Prosecco. Wait a sec … healthy? Well, as a welcome drink cheerful clerk Claudia offered us a glass of Prosecco presented with the words: “Here we go, a glass of Italian multivitamin juice” :-).

Welcome to Miami in Italy!

Yours
