The island on the island
Tradition plays an important role at the Benen-Diken Hof, one of the last few private hotels on the island of Sylt. The beautiful property impresses with several thatched roof houses typical for the island, in which the currently 48 rooms, suites, hotel apartments and studios are housed. All of them are furnished to a high standard, so tasteful and stylish – you immediately feel at home. If you prefer your own apartment or holiday home outside of the hotel complex, but without missing any of the amenities of the hotel, then this can also be provided. “The island on the island” is not only a nice slogan, but the daily program in this wonderful hotel owned by Claas-Erik Johannsen!

Our beautiful apartment with its own small terrace was located in the main building close to the large spa area. Very appealing and functionally furnished, everything so new and inviting – I feel very comfortable! The hotel makes it easy for guests to just take a break from everyday life! Whether completely relaxed in one of the saunas or the steam bath or sporty active in the indoor pool or the Milon Circle. Of course you can also be pampered with a massage or another application. Again a slogan of the hotel that keeps its promise – “with both feet firmly in the clouds”!
Also in the morning there is another highlight! I love to sit outside in the sun while having breakfast! On the restaurant terrace of the Benen-Diken Hof, it is even possible to enjoy the delicious breakfast daily until 13:00 o’clock. You arrive at your own pace and are led into the new day by the very friendly and corteous hotel staff. One can not start the day any better!
What Mr T likes
We have already pointed out that traditions take their place in the hotel. One family tradition was established involuntarily by Claas-Erik Johannsen’s father directly on the opening night of the hotel and has since been maintained. In the Hotel Bar, the beer is not tapped, but “turned” into the glass and every Friday night, Claas-Erik Johannsen himself serves the guests – the bar always firmly under control. I will not share any more details, you just have to see and experience it yourself! One more thing though: you can still smoke in the bar, but you don’t have to worry, the ventilation works quite well.
What our Tesla likes
This hotel lives electro-mobility and loves Tesla! Those guests arriving by plane can be picked up from the airport in the Model S of the hotel and whoever is traveling with his own Tesla can charge quickly and reliably at any time – completely free of charge, of course. But that’s just the beginning! The hotel is well prepared for the future and has the entire parking lot in front of the hotel entrance already wired. The Benen-Diken Hof even produces its own electricity. What else could you ask for?!
