One of the things we love about our trip: By visiting Destination Charging partners like the Adler Thermae Resort we also get to know amazing places. Bagno Vignoni, for example – never heard of it. It’s a charming little village with an impressive thermal water basin right in the center. Mrs T worked in tourism in her hometown Baden, which also has a thermal spring. But she has never heard of this one. You live and learn …
Already at the counter we were assured that three days in the Adler feel like six. And it’s true: Here, time is passing slower and every hour is intense. The Adler Thermae Resort offers everything spa lovers desire: A sauna area in the middle of the former quarry, a huge thermal bath with bubbling loungers, Jacuzzis you can enjoy standing up, a swimming pool heated by the thermal water and a large lawn with stunning views of Tuscany. Taking a closer look at our cover picture, one could think that they even offer an extra sun. 🙂 Here, it’s so easy to forget the world.
Such space and freedom
During our stay the hotel was fully booked but not crowded. You just have such comfortable space because the rooms are spread all over the large park, wonderfully integrated into the landscape. Enjoy the spacious rooms with spectacular views of the park and the gentle hills of Val D’Orcia.
The program of the resort is so varied that we have to decide: hikes, e-bike tours, yoga class, cooking class, wine tasting, water aerobics, massages … Or just enjoy the park? We take an easy decision and plunge into the warm thermal water and recover from being on the move. Immediately all tension dissolves and we just lean back.
Mrs T consults with the ayurvedic doctor, as a pulse anamnesis has long been on her bucket list. And lo and behold, the air energy is a bit out of balance. But no worries. This settles down with walks, warmth and a gentle oil massage. Thank you Dr. Babu! Mr T enjoys a massage and, finally, dares to enter the gym and goes swimming every day. You can tell, the delicious Italian food emphasizes the curves a bit …
And while we’re at it: We enjoy a delicious meal in the garden restaurant, nibble at the cake buffet, take another stop in the thermal water, spoil ourselves with an aperitif on the beautiful terrace and then … poor us … directly go for dinner. This is real pampering. The open-air dining room reminds us a bit of a luxury cruise ship, but without any rocking. Time to leave this tranquil paradise to go for a stroll through Bagno Vignoni – under the full moon with the sound of crickets in our ears.
Organic Wines in the heart of Tuscany
A visit at the hotel’s own winery Tenuta Sanoner the next day not only opened up spectacular views of the scenery but also some bottles of fine wines. The estate with great architecture is still young and the winemakers are keen to try something new, innovative and with an organic approach. It applies for viticulture as for everything else: One must experiment to create something new. Throw old restrictions overboard, explore new opportunities and the future begins. Cheers!
Back in the bathrobe
Wearing a bathrobe for breakfast is part of the etiquette. Wonderful to see the guests lingering through the corridors like this! We enjoy a morning bath and also don’t loose much time to decide what to wear for the encounter with Raffaele. The very attentive and obliging restaurant manager, dressed in fancy suit with eagle emblem, is already waiting for us with a cappuccino.
Although if it feels like it, unfortunately three days are not six. Heavy hearted we have to move on – with a long to-do list for our next stay at the Adler Thermae. After all, we feel years younger, refreshed, strengthened and incredibly well recovered! One can easily spend a whole week of health holiday at Adler Thermae. We feel elated and carry on with our fully charged Model S.
P.S.: Our Tesla was in good company: In addition to e-bikes the hotel offers two electric cars for free use to experience the beautiful surroundings. Congratulations on this outstanding e-mobility initiative! According to our motto: Only those who get to know the options can take a decision.
Yours
Mr & Mrs T
