Did you ever wonder what is so special about the Tesla Owners Clubs? The short answer is: their fantastic members!

Whatever brand you like, every Electric Vehicle on the road is a good thing! Only if all car manufacturers move away from Internal Combustion Engines (ICE) the effects will be strong enough to allow for a meaningful positive change. Even Elon Musk said that Tesla can`t do it alone. Your demand makes the difference!  Still, the Tesla community is very unique! Not only do Tesla drivers greet each other on the road, there are also official Tesla Owners Clubs in many countries. For us, these were always the first point of contact in the countries we visited. The club presidents and their members are extremely active and support each other, even across national borders. So something very special happened to us. Something we would have never expected. Something that only happened because of the great Tesla Owners Club Family and several extraordinary, generous Tesla Owners. 

More than a car club:

We have been asked regularly how we plan to continue our journey outside of Europe. People were wondering if we would ship our Model S to the next continent, if we would rent a local car, or if we would buy a Tesla on site in order to continue our tour. Shipping our Model S was never an option for ecological, technical as well as practical reasons. Renting a Tesla in New Zealand and Australia turned out to be extremely expensive and would never have matched our budget, not to mention buying a car. In North America the situation should not be much different. So how should we solve that? After having reached out to the local Tesla Club presidents who spread the word among their members and friends, Hayley Davey Jones and Nic Bishop (TOC New Zealand), Mark Sandford (TOC Australia), Safder Raza (TOC British Columbia), Kevin Bèlanger and Julian Sale (TOC Vancouver Island), Ryan Levenson (San Fransisco based owner) as well as Svetlana and Dave Hanson (TOC Texas/Houston) provided us with their Teslas to support our project. In order to allow us to continue our world tour in a Tesla, Nic provided us with his Model X in New Zealand for 4 weeks and Hayley shared her Model S with us during the NZ Tesla Supercharger Rally. Mark even offered his Model S for 3 months – the entire period of our journey in Australia! In Canada, Safder supported us on our first leg for 2.5 weeks with his Model 3, Kevin (Tesla Tours) took us on an incredible wine tour in his Signature Model S around the Okanagan Valley and Kevin (Motorize EVs) provided us with his Model 3 for our second leg on Vancouver Island. In the United States Ryan provided us with his Model 3 for the first 3.5 weeks to complete the tour across the southwest of our US tour and Svetlana and Dave offered their Model 3 for the complete second part from Houston to Miami. This generosity deserves a huge THANK YOU to everyone who made this trip possible for us! This is an excellent example of what it can mean to be a member of the Tesla Owners Club family! We can not think of any other community where this would have happened and we feel blessed to have such fantastic friends and supporters in other parts of the world! Thank you Nic, Hayley, Mark, Safder, Kevin, Julian, Ryan, Svetlana and Dave for what you have done for us and thank you Tesla for building such great cars which attract such wonderful people who act as a global family and make things happen! For everyone out there who is wondering what you get for the price of a Tesla, here is the answer: A great car, a fantastic charger network and a whole family for free on top!
